Good morning V5ers! We hope you guys are having a better day than Billy Cundiff. Onto the links!

1. Congrats to Jason Pierre-Paul and Jacquian Williams who are heading to the Super Bowl after the New York Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in overtime. Williams had the play of the game as he stripped Kyle Williams during a 49ers punt return and it led to the game winner by Lawrence Tynes.

2. Lindsey Lamar, Derrick Hopkins, and Kayvon Webster finished 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the 60 meter dash as 23 Bulls qualified for the Big East Indoor Championships during the Notre Dame Invitational this weekend. GoUSFBulls has more for you from this weekend's meets.

3. The guys at the Bull Rush are prepping for baseball season as they breakdown the entire roster. Today they are tackling RHP Adrian Puig.

4. Jose and the women's basketball team grabbed another split in Big East play. The week started off great with the Bulls upsetting #19 DePaul in OT, but the Bulls couldn't keep up with #7 Rutgers in the 2nd half and fell 72-66.

5. If you want a recap of yesterday's game from a DePaul angle, WeAreDePaul.com has you covered.

With news not coming in as quickly as it did during football season, we are moving back to the old Bull-ogosphere title. With that being said, onto the links!

1. Greg Auman has a nice breakdown of the winners from this Saturday's USF banquet. Favorite stat from the entire banquet was the team's cumulative GPA topping 3.0 for the first time in program history.

2. Might as well call the NFC Championship Game the USF Bowl. Both the 49ers (Jim Leavitt and WR Dontavia Bogan, who went on injured reserve in preseason) and the Giants (Jason Pierre-Paul and Jacquian Williams) won this weekend, and will meet this weekend for a place in the Super Bowl. Fun times.

3. The women's tennis team started off the season on a good note as they defeated Syracuse and Ohio State over the weekend. You can find video highlights from the matches here and here.

4. After coming up short against Louisville, the women's basketball team crushed Seton Hall 68-49 on Saturday. Inga Orekhova once again had a quality game and led the Bulls with 20 points.

5. No link, but just a friendly reminder that the Stan Heath Show will be at the Beef 'O' Brady's on campus tonight at 7:00pm.

Good Morning V5ers! We hope you guys had a great weekend and watched this weekend's NFL playTIMTEBOWTIMTEBOWTIMTEBOWTIMTEBOWTIMTEBOWTIMTEBOW. Oh God its infected the site. Onto the links!

1. Jose Fernandez and the women's basketball team lost a close 66-56 game to #15 Georgetown Saturday. The Bulls were only down by 1 with 3:30 to go, but Georgetown raced out for the next 9 point to seal the win. JUCO wing Inga Orekhova had 18 points in her USF debut.

2. Anthony Collins is feeling much better after his nasty fall in the first half against Villanova. Let's hope AC can go tomorrow against Notre Dame.

3. SB Nation went through their 2012 MLS Mock SuperDraft, and Dom Dwyer ended up at Seattle with pick number 15. Would be an awesome place for Dom to land and start off his pro career.

4. #ALLTHEWALKONTRANSFERS For the 2nd year in a row, USF will be bringing in a walk-on defensive back. This year's edition is Carl Williams, who had a handful of D1 offers before winding up at South Alabama. Greg Auman has all the details.

5. Just a reminder to vote Matt over at The Bull Rush for the Big East Volvo competition.

Good morning V5ers! We hope your hangover from New Year's Eve has finally subsided. On to the links!

1. Greg Auman has postgame interviews up from Stan Heath, Anthony Collins, and Ron Anderson Jr. after the win against Rutgers yesterday. Love AC's answer when he was asked how it feels to hit the big shot.

2. Jose Fernandez and the women's basketball team split their two games in the St. Peter's Holiday Classic, losing to Dayton before taking care of the St. Peter's Peahens. Did I write this just to say Peahens? Why yes, yes I did.

3. New year, new transfer targets from big schools. This time its former 5-star RB Dillon Baxter, who is leaving Southern Cal after two seasons with the Trojans. Baxter has USF in his final two alongside San Diego State. We will keep you guys updated.

4. Forgot to link to this earlier, but Greg Auman at the St. Pete Tampa Bay Times did one of his always entertaining livechats on Thursday. Always worth a read.

5. The women's golf team is finally making turning the corner, and it looks like its starting to happen on the men's side as well. Freshman Trey Valentine finished 18th in the Patriot All-America Invitational. Congrats on the solid performance Trey.

Daily Bull-ogosphere: December 20

Passing the ball around and distributing! What a concept! Thanks Anthony Collins.

What the heck, let's do one of these. I guess I'm all fired up after watching Gus dunk on a guy last night and seeing the Bulls pass the ball around a zone and get a bunch of open shots. All that competence got me tingly! Let's have some links!

1. You've probably seen the newly-designed GoUSFBulls.com. It looks really sharp on the outside, but like a lot of things in Athletics, it doesn't stand up as well when you do some digging. You notice that they didn't take the opportunity to update a lot of the information, and especially the stat archives, for sports other than football. I'm a bit biased because maintaining Web content is a big part of my day job, but eventually other people will notice, too. It's easy to outsource the design of your site to a third party (and schools often use the same templates for their sites). They all look good, but you still need your own people to keep the site up to date and make sure Seth Greenberg's name is spelled right. Of course, that takes money to pay those people, and we know how nickels are treated like manhole covers in that office.

2. I can't tell when the article was posted, so I don't know if Ken got to this already, but the 2012 baseball schedule is out. Incredibly, the Bulls play 27 of their first 28 games in the area, only leaving Tampa Bay to play to UCF on February 28. After an exhibition with the New York Yankees on March 2, USF has a nice 20-game homestand, which also includes the first six games of Big East play. I'm not sure the team will be a lot better than last year, but their schedule appears much more manageable.

3. We haven't brought up the Sun Dome, which is most definitely under renovation now. The official site has a new photo gallery of the permanent seating being installed on the old Level 2. No word on whether they've found the chair that Federico Peruzzo couldn't guard. Sorry, that was a cheap shot.

4. Yesterday we also found out that the women's basketball team is going to play the rest of the season in the Upper Gym, which just feels so chintzy. Sure, they'll probably draw better in there because fans are used to watching games on campus, and they can create an atmosphere in there. But compared to the men getting to play in the St. Pete Times Forum, this still seems so cheap and bush league. They're going to be practicing in a better facility than they're playing in.

5. This is going back a little bit, but just a quick thought about the new "Tampa Bay" tagline at the end of the University's logos. I don't think everyone here agrees with me, but I don't see the big problem here. It's not in the actual name of the school, and we've seen how many people in sports media, even some who should know better, get USF confused with other schools. Every little bit helps. And if you haven't noticed, USF's been tagging themselves as being in Tampa Bay in the institutional commercials you see during football and basketball games for several years now. (The new commercial... well, that's another post for another time.)

Daily Bull-ogosphere: December 7

It's exam week at USF, so not much going on on campus, but a few items from around the Interwebs...

1. As you may have heard non-stop for the last two months, the Big East is once again almost ready to add five schools any day now maybe if everything goes right. Dennis Dodd of CBS compares the resumes of the outgoing schools to those of the incoming schools. The key statistic (one that is a major component to a league's BCS-worthiness) is that the new schools have finished in the Top 25 of the BCS poll nine times, compared to twelve times for the three exiting schools.

2. CBS Sports, citing behind-paywall reports from Rivals, is reporting that Larry Fedora has been offered the North Carolina head coaching job. Texas A&M says Fedora is holding out for their job, but Texas A&M is probably also waiting for Bill Belicheck to call.

3. USF's Dom Dwyer has been named one of 15 semi-finalists for the Hermann Trophy, the national player of the year award for college soccer. The award is voted on by college soccer coaches, not media types.

4. USF's Chaz Hine was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, a.k.a. the "Academic Heisman", but lost out to linebacker Andrew Rodriguez of Army. Disappointing for our guy, but you've got to admit Rodriguez has impressive credentials. Hine was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete, an award given to only 16 individuals, and one that comes with an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship. Congratulations to Chaz, a great Bull in many ways.

5. CNNSI has a brief video piece on Texas-San Antonio's first season of football. The challenges they talk about will bring out a little nostalgia for those of us who remember the 1997 USF football season. The piece mentions UTSA breaking the record for inaugural game attendance. They don't mention who previously held that record... but I think we all know who.

Good morning V5ers! We hope you guys are getting ready for tonight's season finale against West Virginia. (NOTE FROM JAMIE: I see what you did there.) Onto the links!

1. The football team wants to send the seniors off a winner and give them one more football game to play in.

2. Jim Louk and Todd Fitch talk about the West Virginia and Louisville games in their final Coordinators Corner of the regular season.

3. Jose Fernandez might have some bad news -- last year's leading scorer, Andrea Smith, might miss this season as she recovers from a torn ACL. Good news is that she might be able to earn a medical redshirt and play next season.

4. With the Half-Hoops heading up to Omaha to take on Creighton this Saturday, George Keifer's toughness has rubbed off on the players this season.

5. Once again TheUConnBlog has more family drama, with Alex Oriakhi's father challenging them to a fight. This is insane. No wonder Andrew called it the Oriakalypse.

Good morning V5ers! Who else is excited about tonight's big game in Richmond? Onto the links!

1. I keep forgetting how small this senior class is. With only 6 senior starters this year, the majority of the team will be back next season. I can see some of you shaking your head, but this is a good thing.

2. Forgot to talk about this earlier, but Evan Landi will be replacing Victor Marc at punt returner after Marc's struggles back there the last few weeks.

3. Congrats to the 12 members of the football team who are set to graduate this semester. Excellent work guys.

4. Even though this year has been an abject failure, its nice knowing that we still aren't last in this week's version of the Big East Power Poll.

5. Just our weekly shout outt that you need to vote for Matt at The Bull Rush over at the Volvo Big East Fan Contest.
