#12 TE Sean Price
Junior, 6'3", 250 lbs.
Stats in 2013: Played in 11 games, starting 9. Had 21 receptions for 185 yards. Had no touchdowns, but not many USF players did in 2013. You want to know who scored touchdowns for USF in 2013? Here's the list: Marcus Shaw (3), Andre Davis (2), Mike McFarland (2), Chris Dunkley (2), Derrick Hopkins, Ryan Eppes, Stephen Bravo-Brown, Julius 'JuJu' Forte, Aaron Lynch, DeDe Lattimore, and Nate Godwin.
Spot On Preseason Depth Chart: #2 tight end, behind Mike McFarland. But USF often plays multiple tight ends, so Price is rarely out of action for long.
How did he come to USF: Price's verbal commitment to USF in November 2011 was such a big deal that it got its own article here. He's a rare four-star recruit who chose USF out of high school - and even rarer, he's a Skip Holtz-era recruit who actually stayed at USF, and has performed at a high level. I'm sorry to keep beating that drum, but that situation really does permeate the whole roster.
Recruiting Rankings: All the major services rated Price a four-star talent. Rivals also called Price the #5 tight end in entire country in 2012. 24/7Sports rated him similarly. Had offers from Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Michigan, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, Miami, and Arkansas.
Projected Playing Time in 2014: He will see plenty of playing time in USF's tight end-heavy offense. Especially with Mike McFarland nursing a foot problem.
Fun Fact: Price is on the Mackey Award watch list... along with former Oklahoma quarterback Blake Bell, aka the Belldozer.
