#31 RB Darius Tice
Sophomore, 5'10", 213 lbs.
Stats in 2013: Darius is the leading returning rusher on the roster, with 141 yards on 35 carries. He played in 8 games as a true freshman with one start.
Spot on 2013 Depth Chart: Darius was not on the depth chart.
How did he come to USF: From Miami Northwestern high school, where he was second-team Class-6A all-state at running back and averaged a whopping 8.4 yards per carry to go along with 25 TDs and over 1500 yards rushing.
Recruiting Rankings: Tice was rated three stars from 247 and two stars from Rivals. He initially committed to Cincinnati, and also had an offer from Ole Miss, among others.
Projected Playing Time in 2014: As the leading returning rusher, albeit with a meager 141 yards, Tice should be in the catbird seat for the starting role at running back. However, senior Michael Pierre will also be back, and there are a lot of underclassmen competing for the job.
Fun Fact: His nickname is "Whopper."
