#36 DB Nate Godwin
Sophomore, 5'10", 197 lbs.
Stats in 2013: Played in 12 games as a true freshman, and started the last nine. He had 39 tackles and 1 INT. He also ran back at blocked kick for a touchdown against Cincinnati.
Spot on 2013 Depth Chart: Nate was the starter at safety at the end of last season.
How did he come to USF: Nate stayed home when he chose USF, as he went to Freedom High School in Tampa. He chose USF after de-committing from Minnesota. Coach Taggart offered Godwin a scholarship from Western Kentucky, which probably played a part in getting Godwin to Tampa. He also had offers from West Virginia and a few MAC schools.
After selecting USF, Godwin told TBT, "I’m ready to put on for my city and bring USF back to its 2007 days."
Recruiting Rankings: Rivals and 247 rated him as three stars, and Rivals had him listed as the #49 cornerback in the country.

Projected Playing Time in 2014: Unless a freshman comes up that Godwin did, Godwin will be a starter at safety this coming season.
