Today's player has turned a sad story into an uplifting one.
#55 LB Mitchell Wright
Redshirt Freshman, 6'3", 200 lbs
Stats in 2013: Wright took a redshirt year and did not play.
Where was he on the 2013 Depth Chart: Not listed.
How did he Come to USF: Mitchell had an illustrious career as a defensive end at Plant High School, winning a state title and serving as team captain.
Recruiting Rankings: Rivals and 247 both gave Mitchell three stars. He chose the Bulls over offers from Boston College, Florida Atlantic and UMass.
Projected Playing Time: None, sadly. Just a season after becoming a local hero at Plant, Mitchell was forced to give up football due to neck and shoulder injuries. Instead of leaving the program, he started working with the USF video staff and will remain on scholarship. Much respect, Mitchell.

Fun Fact: Wright was USF's second ever commitment from Plant. The first was a linebacker, too: Donte Spires, back in 2005.
