Stampeding The 2014 USF Football Roster - #57 LB Nigel Harris

Brian Blanco

Meet one of Coach T's freshman standouts from last year on defense.

#57 LB Nigel Harris
Sophomore, 6'2", 200 lbs.

Stats in 2013: Harris played in all 12 games last season as a true freshman, starting seven of them. He recorded 18 solo tackles and 17 assisted for a total of 35. In his first career start against FAU he had a team-leading 12 tackles to go with a forced fumble and a TFL.

Spot on 2013 depth chart: Number one listed for the weak side linebacker spot.

How did he come to USF: He's a Tampa boy and went to Hillsborough High School where he was a three year starter and standout player. As a senior he was an all-state selection and recorded 117 tackles, two sacks, three pressures and three PBU. Chose USF over offers from Wake Forest, Arizona, Indiana, UCF, Pittsburgh, and Vanderbilt.

Recruiting rankings: Three stars across the board from ESPN, Scout, 247, and Rivals.

Projected playing time in 2014: I would expect him to remain in his starter position and continue to be a contributor for the team on defense.

Fun fact: Has strong family ties in the USF football program. His brother, Brandon, joined the team as a walk-on in 2012 and his cousin, Lindsey Lamar, was a USF standout from 09-12.
