Everything you missed this weekend, including the end of the regular season for both baseball and softball.

Baseball

The Bulls hosted #8 Louisville this weekend for their last homestand of the year. Things did not go as planned, as the Bulls ended up getting swept in three games. For a detailed analysis, look out for a post later by Collin.

Men's Tennis

Sophomore Roberto Cid was named the unanimous American Athletic Conference Player of the Year on Thursday. USF Head Coach Matt Hill was also named Coach of the Year. Cid, along with Oliver Prammaning Jr, was also placed on the all-conference singles first team and the all-conference doubles first team (along with Sasha Gozun).

Softball

The softball team played a four game away series at Temple this weekend and swept all four games by a combined score of 30-2. Sara Nevins pitched her second career perfect game in the first game of the series, a 8-0 win for USF. Nevins also picked up the win in two of the final three games of the weekend and struck out 26 on the weekend. Her record to end the regular season is now 26-7. A pair of home runs by Kourtney Salvarola and Karla Claudio helped USF along to victory in the first the game. The second game was more of a pitchers duel, with the final score being just 3-1. However, six different Bulls recorded hits, with Salvarola leading the offensive attack with a 3-4 performance. The third game was another blowout, this time 12-0. Nevins got the start again and only gave up one hit, but the real story line was Stephanie Medina. Medina went 3-3 with five RBIs and scored two runs herself. Her performance was capped off by a three-run home run in the top of the fourth. The final game of the series was the Erica Nunn show. She set a new school record for strikeouts in a single game with 18. In her complete game performance, she only gave up one run off one hit on her way to her 11th win of the year. Meanwhile on the offensive side of things, Ashli Goff went 3-4 with five RBIs. The team now heads to Houston for the conference tournament. The Bulls are set to take on Memphis in round one on Thursday at 1:30 PM. The Bulls handled Memphis this season, winning all three games by a combined scored of 24-1.

Track & Field

USF hosted the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship this past weekend. As teams, the men finished fifth overall and the women seventh. The Bulls took home one individual championship in both the men and women sides. For the women, Courtney Anderson won the high jump with a score of 5-08.00. For the men, Matthew O'Neal predictably won the triple jump with a score of 52-07.50. The Bulls also had several athletes finish with second and third team all-conference honors as well. Giscard Petion (high jump), Shane Lewis (triple jump), and Derrick Hopkins, Chareif Lewis, Dae Young Yoon, and Alfred Higgs (4x100m relay) all got second team honors. Chase Meyers (high jump), Christopher Grinley (110m hurdles), Derrick Hopkins (100m), and Paul Barrett (400m hurdles) all finished on the third team.
