DE Aaron Lynch drafted in Round 5 by San Francisco, while other members of the Bulls defense are signing UDFA contracts.

The San Francisco 49ers selected USF defensive end Aaron Lynch in Round 5 (150th pick) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Lynch was the only Bull selected in this year's draft.

49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke had this to say about Lynch (per 49ers.com):

Harbaugh: "This is a good young man who needs direction, a good structure around him where has men to look up to, to have a chance to emulate. He’ll thrive in that kind of environment… There’s a real chance to have a partnership there… He has a chance to be successful, we felt."

Baalke: "Good football player. He’s a young man that has a lot of talent, a lot of traits to work with. Huge arrow up. He’s got the keys to the car now, and it’s up to him to drive it."

Former USF Bull B.J. Daniels, now on the Seahawks, was drafted by the 49ers in 2013. USF is becoming something of a pipeline for San Francisco, probably due to the ties between Harbaugh and Bulls head coach Willie Taggart. Taggart played for Harbaugh's father at Western Kentucky, and is seen as an "extension of the Harbaugh Clan." Harbaugh was the best man at Taggart's wedding.

Three other Bulls are at various stages of the process of signing as undrafted free agents. After weighing offers from Chicago and Detroit, linebacker Devekeyan 'DeDe' Lattimore signed with the Bears.

Defensive lineman Tevin Mims and Ryne Giddins will stay in Florida, as they signed with the Dolphins and Bucs, respectively, per USF defensive line coach Eric Mathies. However, as of 9 a.m. Monday, Giddins isn't yet confirmed on NFL.com.

Correction: While B.J. Daniels was drafted by the 49ers, he now plays for the Seahawks.
