Been a fun day on Fowler Ave. so far: the USF women pulverized C. Florida 89-54, and #23 softball is currently taking on #4 Michigan. And we'll be here live for the night cap, which is USF vs. Rutgers in men's basketball.
The Scarlet Knights (9-14, 3-7 AAC) have lost five of their last six, and are in a full rebuild after Eddie Jordan took over in the wake of the Mike Rice insanity. Myles Mack leads the team from North Jersey with 15.8 points and 4.4 assists per game, and most of the offense runs through him.
However in conference play the Knights are about as efficient as the Ft. Lee Bridge last September. Their wins are over Temple, C. Florida (have we mentioned how atrocious the Knights are?) and Houston, and they can't really do anything. If the Bulls can find the form they had against SMU and Cincinnati in their last two outings before the weirdness in Oviedo last Wednesday, this is a game they should win.
Sometimes the things in the game notes are valuable. Here's two we think could portend tonight's result for the Bulls (12-11, 3-7 AAC):
" USF is 0-8 when shooting under 40 percent from the field
" USF is 8-0 when committing fewer turnovers than its opponent
Spread: Bulls by 4.5
Come join us as we get through this game together, as a family. It's been a great week for the Bulls, would be nice to finish it strong.
