#5 Oklahoma State 93, USF 67. Marcus Bleepin' Smart. But He Didn't Do It Alone

Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

Quite simply, the Bulls got their doors blown off by a superior basketball team. OKSU is #5 for a reason, and when they shoot 33-66 from the floor and 9-16 from three, it's going to be a long night. They put on a clinic tonight.

Marcus Smart was as advertised: 25 points, and one 55 footer buzzer beater to take all the air out of the building at the end of the first half. The guy is special, and he put on a show.

Markel Brown also had 25 points for the Cowboys, including 5-6 from three. Many of the long-range shots OKSU took were contested, but they simply made them anyway. "I think we could have made them drive it a lot more," Corey Allen Jr. said, but it's not like the Bulls got lazy defensively: they just flat out got beat.

John Egbunu had a nice night for USF, including some man-sized rebounds on both ends. He's going to be a special player, but getting him as a post option with his back to the basket and in other offensive ways is crucial to his development. His energy was good, but "he needs to work on those second-effort plays," Stan Heath said after the game. The head coach was happy with the 15 points and eight rebounds from his freshman center.

At no point in the second half was anything in doubt. "We turned it over at a high rate," Victor Rudd said after the game, pointing to the 16 miscues to just nine for the 'Pokes. "We have to take care of the ball."

We'll update this with more thoughts later, but Bulls fans shouldn't be too discouraged: OK State is really, really freaking good.
