We're going to skip #43 (Jackson Cannon) for the time being because we'll cover all of the new players in one giant post a little later on. Let's move on to the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything (assuming that thing is a backup linebacker).

#42 LB Corian Hamilton
Redshirt Freshman, 6'0" 232 lbs.

Stats in 2011: Hamilton took his redshirt year as he converted from a safety to a linebacker, but he may have helped the team another way since his 324-pound cousin James committed to USF as a defensive tackle in the 2012 recruiting class.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Corian was not listed on the two-deep depth chart after spring practice.

How Did He Come To USF: At Orlando's Olympia High School, Hamilton earned three letters in both football and basketball. Corian was a safety in high school and rolled up 269 tackles and an impressive 24 interceptions. He had plenty of good offers but chose USF over schools like Missouri, Ole Miss, Rutgers, and West Virginia.

Recruiting Rankings: Hamilton was a three-star recruit in 2011 according to 247, Rivals, and Scout.

Projected Playing Time for 2012: We'll have a better idea pretty soon if Hamilton is in a position to contribute this year (and like we said with Antoine Pozniak yesterday, there's an opportunity in the linebacker rotation for whoever can step up and take it), but we should see at least a little bit of him on the field, even if it's just finishing out a tune-up game or a blowout.
