USC starts the season ranked #1, after Tyrann Mathieu's dismissal from LSU helped knock them down to #3. 21 of the 25 teams in the preseason poll finished last season ranked. Louisville is one of the four that wasn't, and at #25 they are the only Big East team in the preseason poll. Florida teams and their votes: Florida State #7 (1093 votes), Florida #23 (214 votes), USF NR (11 votes), UCF NR (4 votes). Miami did not receive any votes.
