USF picked up their fourth verbal pledge over the past 48 hours at Tampa Robinson DT Bruce Hector became the latest commit for the Class of 2013. Big County Preps were the first with the news of Hector's commitment, who chose USF over offers from FAU, Bowling Green, Ball State, and Akron. Hector is still in the process of being evaluated by the major recruiting services, only being pegged as a 2-star recruit by Rivals.
The 6-foot-2, 260 lb Hector put in a great performance at the USF SuperBull event on Saturday and earned a scholarship offer from Skip Holtz and DL Coach Kevin Patrick. After mulling it over the weekend, Hector decided to pull the trigger earlier today.
Hector was considered the best interior offensive line prospect in the Bay Area, but USF will start him off at defensive tackle. Hector played as a 3-4 defensive end for Robinson last year, totaling 31 tackles and 3 sacks while also starting at guard for the Knights.
In his highlight reel after the jump, Hector gets off the ball well and is able to get to the ball carrier from the outside. Bruce should be able to add 30-40 pounds on his frame without a problem, and should end up as a 3-tech DT once he gets to campus.
