Another day, another lineman. Let's meet today's entry.

#72 OG Steven Jacques
Redshirt Junior, 6'3" 304 lbs

Stats in 2011: Steven was buried in the depth chart last season, only seeing action as a reserve in three games.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Jacques is listed as the backup to Lawrence Martin at right guard on the post-spring depth chart

How did he come to USF: Steven comes to USF via South Broward High School in Hollywood, FL. Jacques was a three year starter at SBHS and was named to the 6A All-State team his junior year. Chose USF over offers from South Carolina, West Virginia, and Auburn.

Recruiting Rankings: Was well thought of coming out of high school. Jacques was a 3-star recruit by both Rivals (#54 OG) and Scout (#52 OG).

Projected Playing Time for 2011: Guard is one of those positions that have a logjam trying to compete for the 2nd starting job and the backup positions. It'll be tough to see Steven get a ton of playing time this year, but maybe next season when Damien Edwards and Danous Estenor graduate he will have the inside track to start alongside Lawrence Martin his senior year.
