After meeting the shortest player 10 days ago (Derrick Hopkins), today we meet the tallest player on the roster.

#77 OT Jake Kaufman
Redshirt Sophomore, 6'9" 333 lbs

Stats in 2011: Jake sat out last season battling chronic back issues.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Kaufman is not listed on the post-spring depth chart at either tackle positions.

How did he come to USF: Kaufman comes to USF from St. Peters Prep in Jersey City, NJ. Chose USF over offers from Wisconsin, Georgia, Rutgers, Michigan and Stanford.

Recruiting Rankings: Kaufman was highly rated coming out of high school, getting a 3-star designation from both Rivals (#69 OT) and Scout (#46 OT) back in 2010.

Projected Playing Time for 2011: I would be surprised if Jake makes any significant contributions to the team this year. Kaufman has been hampered by back problems his entire USF career and has seen younger guys like Max Lang and Darrell Williams already pass him up on the depth chart.

If Jake's back problems continue this year, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends his USF career and is moved over to a medical scholarship.
