UPDATED 10:38PM ET
After spending most of the day sitting on my bed staring bleakly into the middle distance, I went back to look at some bracketology to find some slivers of hope for USF chances of getting into the NCAA tournament after the harrowing loss to Notre Dame.
Yesterday, we looked at the leading bracketologists (according to Bracket Project) and saw that four of the top six had USF in the tournament, while the other two had the Bulls just missing the cut. Where do we stand now?
Bracketville - STILL NOT IN, among the first four out. Same as yesterday.
CollegeHoops.net - STILL NOT IN, among the first four out. Same as yesterday.
Okay, those two didn't have us in anyway. How about the four that had us in?
The Bracket Project - STILL IN!! as a 13th seed, unclear if in the First Four (they have six 13 seeds, so four would be in the First Four).
Beer's Bracket - STILL IN!! But perhaps only because he hasn't updated his bracket yet. . . .
Busting the Bracket - STILL IN!! But same as Beer's, they haven't updated the bracket yet.
UPDATE: Busting the Bracket has USF in, as the highest rated school in the First Four.
D1SCOURSE - Patrick Stevens - STILL IN!! Dropping from an 11th seed to a 13th seed, and into the First Four. But STILL IN!!
So to recap, the two that had USF out still have USF out. Three that had USF in still have USF in, and one is to be announced, but had the Bulls in at last count. We'll have one more look at this before Sunday.
