Most people assumed that this was coming, but according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, USF signee LaMarlin Wiggins will not attend USF this fall and will instead head to East Mississippi CC.

The 3-star WR prospect committed to the Bulls over schools like LSU, Virginia Tech, and Miami last summer, but Coach Holtz knew that it would be a longshot for Wiggins to qualify this year. Even if Wiggins made it to Tampa, it would have been difficult for LaMarlin to jump in the two-deep at receiver and was facing a likely redshirt.

Greg did say in his post that Wiggins will redshirt one year while at East Mississippi, giving LaMarlin three years of eligibility when he arrives back to Tampa. Auman also noted that Wiggins will try to earn his AA degree by the winter of 2013 so he can enroll early and participate in spring drills.
