USF's Chris Blais and Aubrey Perry Taken in 2nd Round Of MLS SuperDraft

Stay connected for news and updates

After Dom Dwyer's selection in the 1st Round, USF had a pair of players grabbed in the 2nd Round of the MLS SuperDraft, as RB Aubrey Perry and GK Chris Blais were taken by the Columbus Crew and San Jose Earthquakes.

Perry, who was selected with the 26th pick will join former USF F Bernardo Amor with the Crew. Aubrey should secure a roster spot this year, and will compete with Sebastian Miranda for the starting right back spot this upcoming season.

Blais was selected by the Quakes with the 33rd pick, and will have a tough time breaking through to the first team. Jon Busch is one of the better keepers in the league, but at 35 is starting to enter the twilight of his career. Blais will have to fight with David Bingham for the backup spot. If Blais is unable to beat him out, I wouldn't be surprised if he was loaned out to a PDL or NASL team to grab first team minutes.

Congrats to both Chris and Auburey on making it to the next level and wish them well with the next level of their careers.
