Today's player on our countdown from 99 to 1 may need to contribute on special teams to get out from under the depth at his position and see some solid playing time.
#59 DE Cody Durakovic
Redshirt Sophomore, 6'2", 220 lbs.
Stats in 2010: Durakovic only appeared in the Stony Brook game to open the 2010 season, and did not record any stats.
Current Spot on Depth Chart: Durakovic was not listed on the two-deep at defensive end after spring practice ended.
How He Got To USF: Cody walked onto the 2009 team and took a redshirt year while working at both defensive end and linebacker. He played at Tampa's Sickles High School, where he was a team captain. Neither Scout nor Rivals gave Durakovic a star rating in 2009.
Projected Playing Time In 2011: After only getting into a 59-14 blowout last season, and with the depth across the defensive line, Durakovic is unlikely to get much playing time at his natural position. He's also a bit undersized for a defensive lineman. We may see him on punt or kickoff teams, though.
