Today we first meet a walk-on who will try to earn some playing time in his final year of eligibility.
#37 RB J.J. Peterson
Senior, 5'10", 191 lbs.
Stats In 2010: Peterson made the fall roster last season, but was used mainly on the scout team and did not record any stats or enter any game. He received some attention during Florida week when he portrayed Gators WR Deonte Thompson during practice.
Current Position On Depth Chart: Peterson was not listed on the depth chart at running back.
How He Came To USF: Peterson came to USF from DeSoto County High School, where he led the Bulldogs in rushing his senior year with 314 yards on 40 carries and three touchdowns. Peterson earned a roster spot during fall camp last year and was able to hold on to it throughout spring practice.
Recruiting Rankings: Peterson was not given a ranking by either Scout or Rivals.
Projected Playing Time In 2011: J.J. will mostly be used like last season on the scout team and in a reserve role. Hopefully Peterson will see the field during his senior year.
