Daily Bull-ogosphere: July 25

Stay connected for news and updates

Good morning V5ers! We hope you guys had a better weekend than Newcastle United. Friendly or not, losing to a Tier 3 US team like Orlando City (look for the "Orlan-DOH!" headline) is never good. On to the links!

1. Who is surprised that Matt Grothe led the Tampa Bay Storm to a come-from-behind victory with less than a minute left against San Jose? No one? I know the Storm lost a lot of quarterbacks this season, but maybe they'll hand the keys over to him for next year.

2. Congrats to Pasco High School, won USF"s Sling n' Shoot 7-on-7 competition on campus this weekend. Katherine Smith at the Tampa Tribune talked with Coach Holtz about the tournament and also a quick questions about an on-campus stadium.

3. A neat story from Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe about former USF soccer player Zak Boggs, who's juggling his time between starting for the New England Revolution and helping volunteer as a cancer research assistant.

4. Andrea Adelson from ESPN ranks the top 10 defensive linemen in the league, and Ryne Giddins sneaks in at Number 10.

5. The guys at The Bull Rush have started their top five impact freshman of the season. While I think Number 5 deserved to be on the list, with the lack of depth at this position, he should be a little higher on the countdown.
