NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 08: Shaun Noriega #22, Toarlyn Fitzpatrick #32 and Jarrid Famous #31 of the South Florida Bulls celebrate after defeating the Villanova Wildcats during the first round of the 2011 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament presented by American Eagle Outfitters at Madison Square Garden on March 8, 2011 in New York City. Today is a big day for USF Basketball, as the Big East finally released its conference schedule for the 2011-2012 season. Without further ado, here is the home and away matchups for the Bulls this year.
HOME: Cincinnati, UConn, Pitt, Providence, Rutgers, St. Johns, Seton Hall, Villanova, West F'in Virginia
AWAY: DePaul, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pitt, Providence, Syracuse, Villanova
After digesting this for a minute, that is one heck of a road schedule for Stan Heath's club. Granted DePaul and Providence will be favorable matchups for the Bulls, but the other seven games are insane. As Voodoo noted earlier, you could say that about every Big East season though.
The conference did give the Bulls a break for their "Home" schedule. USF will face a rebuilding St. Johns team, Seton Hall, Providence, and a Kemba-less UConn team somewhere in the Bay Area.
If you didn't notice, the mirror games this season are Pitt, Providence, and Villanova. Although we will probably be underdogs is 4 of those matchups, I like the Villanova games because we get to play this video twice next year instead of just once.
What are your thoughts on the schedule?
