After checking in yesterday with someone who might become the long snapper in 2012, we focus today on the man who has held down the position for the past two seasons.

#68 LS Michael Walsh

5th Year Senior, 5'10", 214 lbs.

Stats in 2010: Mike started all 13 games last year at long snapper. As far as I can remember, Walsh did not botch a snap. (Note from Voodoo: He did snap a low one to Justin Brockhaus-Kann against Stony Brook -- the one JBK went to a knee to field and accidentally killed the play. But that was the only one. I don't remember any other snaps that were even off line.)

Current Spot On Depth Chart: Just like in 2009 and 2010, Walsh is listed first on the post-spring depth chart.

How He Got To USF: Walsh walked on to USF from Tampa's Plant High School, and made the fall roster his freshman year.

Recruiting Ranks: Couldn't find any sort of rankings for Walsh from Scout or Rivals. Walsh played center at Plant along with being their long snapper.

Projected Playing Time in 2011: Walsh has quietly been one of the more important players on the team over the past couple of years. We've seen how a bad snap can turn the tide of a game, and Walsh has proven that no matter the situation, he can get the job done. Expect another solid season from the senior.
