Daily Bull-ogosphere: Baseball Beats UNF Edition
Here are the five best links from yesterday:
1. The baseball team stopped their seven-game losing streak last night as they defeated the North Florida Ospreys 4-1 at the New Red. Matt Reed was solid for the Bulls, giving up only one run and four hits in inning innings of work while striking out four. Nick Gonzalez, Jimmy Moran, and Kevin Quackenbush combined for four innings of relief, with Quack getting his 12th save of the year. USF has a big 3 game series against Pitt this week starting on Thursday as they fight for a spot in the Big East Tournament.
2. Mike Blakely is coming back to USF this weekend on an official visit, according to Adam Adkins of the Tampa Tribune. Blakely stopped by USF to visit with Skip Holtz earlier this week, and apparently he liked what he saw. Greg Auman is reporting that Greg Auman is reporting that USC and their dingbat coach are also trying to get Blakely to take a visit. Hopefully Holtz can seal the deal this weekend.
3. Our friends at Big East Coast Bias are going through the history of the league, and they've started at the beginning with the first conference game between Rutgers and Boston College back in 1991. Plus, did you see that map at the bottom?
4. Former USF assistant Brad Greenberg looks to be on his way out at Radford. According to the Roanoke Times, Greenberg's undoing was admitting to the NCAA about providing improper travel to an ineligible player. As Toro would say, That's... that's not good.
5. Congrats to former Bulls punter/kicker Delbert Alvarado, who was signed by the UFL's Virginia Destroyers. Auman got to talk to Delbert, and he's had quite the journey after being cut by Dallas last year. We hope he does well this season, and can catch the eye of an NFL scout.

Delbert shout out
I figured his rapping career was about to take off.
Also are we rooting for or against USF baseball now? I know the loyalty to the school thing, but secretly is anyone else hoping they continue to crap the bed so we can be assured Prado is gone?
Always for USF
Take the losses if they happen, but never root against the Green and Gold

I hate doing it
but sometimes when a team im loyal to is slowly dying, I figure “it needs to get worse before it gets better”. (This is a better theory in pro sports where u get a high pick for ur trouble)
I just dont want them to sneak in the tourney, score a semi-upset against their 1st opponent and have that prolong the inevitable.
I cant ever root against USF, not at all, but I guess I just see the silver lining if they do in cases like this. I wouldnt be happy if they lose, but I wont be sad either.
This does not apply to football where I will rage for 2 days minimium after a loss.
