A badly-needed commitment for the Bulls as Collins, a point guard at Westbury Christian school in Houston, chose USF over Baylor and a few others. Collins doesn't have great outside range yet (dammit), although his passing skills and point guard instincts rate highly. His Westbury team won the TAPPS* Class 4A state title in 2009 and 2010, and reached the championship game this year. He was a four-year starter and holds the school career record for assists. With no open scholarship available for Collins at the moment, it's a very good bet someone will be leaving the team pretty soon, likely as a transfer. * - TAPPS is the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools. Rather than have these generally small private schools compete in the UIL (Texas's version of the FHSAA), TAPPS has their own athletic setup and classifications.
