Syracuse Project: Eat Chipotle, Post Photo To Our Facebook Page, Win T-Shirt

via www.feelgoodfastfood.org

You might think USF has very little chance of beating Syracuse at the St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday. And you'd probably be right, but that doesn't mean we can't try and sway the outcome a little bit. (No, this is not related to that idiotic Syracuse rumor from the other day.)

Regular readers of Troy Nunes Is an Absolute Magician, SBN's Syracuse blog, are well versed in The Chipotle Curse, a strange phenomenon that usually brings doom and shame upon their prized basketball team. It all started at last year's Big East tournament, when the Orange rolled into New York as the #1 team in the country. A few players had innocuous meals at a Chipotle near their team hotel in Manhattan, and then BAM! They lost to arch-rival Georgetown in their first tournament game, and Arinze Onuaku hurt his knee and missed the rest of the season. Syracuse got through the first NCAA Tournament weekend, but then arrived in Salt Lake City (a heavy Chipotle town) and promptly lost to Butler in the Sweet 16.

The Chipotle Curse is our one shot at pulling off a massive upset. Here's how you can help.

1. If you haven't done it already, visit Voodoo Five on Facebook and "like" us. You can do it by clicking here, or by going down to the box on the right-hand side of the homepage and clicking the "Like" button.

2. Take a picture of yourself eating Chipotle and post it to our Facebook wall between now and 2:00pm on Saturday. To make sure it's in service of USF, wear a USF hat or T-shirt in your picture, or at least throw the horns at the camera.

3. Once the game starts, we'll pick someone at random from all the pictures of people eating Chipotle on our wall and give them a Voodoo Five T-shirt.

(Yes, we know The UConn Blog tried invoking the Curse earlier this week and it didn't work. But I think the problem was that they didn't carry it all the way through - the Chipotle pictures ended on Monday.)

Here's the thing. The roads where I live are still impassable sheets of ice, it's going to snow on Friday, and I've never even eaten there before, yet I'm still going to head down to my local Chipotle and get my taco on. You can do it too.

Go Bulls!

The Curse

I don’t know if it works inversely. I think it just infects all who cross it. We’ll know for sure after tomorrow.

I don't know either

But what the hell, it’s not like USF has much of a chance to win the game straight up.

By the way, I hope your fans noticed that we have no intention of stopping them from buying tickets to this game, unlike another Saturday game you all are in a few weeks from now. Come one, come all!
